Home Schooled: Rangers/Hurricanes Postgame Analysis

January 3, 2010

The Rangers we’re beat at home by the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 in overtime. A game which the Blueshirts should have handily won.

The Hurricanes Goalie Cam Ward played well with 27 saves allowing Carolina its third win on the road this season. I think we can chalk this loss to “The Hockey Gods hate the Rangers at the moment”. The Blueshirts rang five shots off the post and looked like they controlled most of the game. I guess it comes down to what team makes the least mistakes.

With incredible pressure for the Rangers to win at home they can’t get it done. I understand the media and the fans are harder than most but come on guys…your on the cusp of being an o.k. playoff team. It’s good we have the second half of the season to get our act together. Maybe somebody will screw their head on straight in the front office and dump Wade Redden. He’s just not up to par…I feel like I’ve said this many times before…

I’ll end it with this…Gaborik is the best player in the NHL right now with 27 goals. He’s the only reason why we have a chance this year. Keep the faith Blueshirts…at least we have a shot.
