Can the Devils make it into the playoffs?

March 13, 2011

The New Jersey Devils are 22-3-2 in their last twenty seven games. 9-23-2 was the record they were looking at before they hit the big patch of wins. What an impossible hill they have climbed in the last two months. But do they have a chance to make it into the playoffs?

With only 14 games left they are trailing the 8th spot (currently held by the Buffalo Sabers) by 6 points. While the Rangers, Sabers, Thrasher and Hurricanes are playing sub-par hockey at best the Devils continue to surge. They have a shot at making it. A very good shot. Personally I’m waiting for the April 9th game against the Rangers. That game could be a pivotal point for both teams and frankly…I’m worried. And so should you if you are a fan of any of the teams at the bottom of the playoff race.

What do you think of the Devils chances?

I hope the Devils make it, and I’m sure most hockey fans are rooting for the Devils as well considering that this would be a historical feat if they make it to the playoffs. It would truly be a dream season for the Devils if they even won a championship.

Although I’m not a big Devils fan. It would be an amazing feat for them to make the playoffs. I absolutely had them written off this season. Good luck to them…but don’t take the Blueshirts spot. ;-)
