It All Comes To This: Rangers/Flyers Postgame
The hatred between these teams are apparent. Whether it’s Chris Pronger grabbing Rangers sticks from the bench or Dan Girardi putting Scott Hartnell in his place, it was a good game. The teams battled for control of the neutral zone all night long but in the end the desperation of the Rangers broke though and won in stunning fashion four to three.
40 seconds into the first period Mike Richards intercepted a pass from Marc Staal in the Rangers zone and put it in. Slow start…no surprise there. But they picked it up when Chris Drury put in a powerplay goal. After that the Blueshirts looked like they were in control for the rest of the first period. Jody Shelley notched the second goal of the game and first as a Ranger…good for you Jody!
The second period was a dog fight. It was fast and hard and when the dust settled when Marian Gaborik put in the 4th goal of the night putting the game away.
Everyone stepped up last night including Henrik…no surprise there. The fourth line was instrumental in the win. Prust and Shelley are godsends. How funny is that?
It all comes down to Sunday at 3 P.M. against Philly…and if we lose…we can blame it all on Wade Redden.
Also…you should become a fan of Blueshirt Dirt on Facebook…that would be super sweet…click this link…or this one…or this one…or this link…whichever one you’d like. Don’t wait…do it now! Thanks!
