The Push is On!: Rangers/Lightning Postgame

I scored a goal!!!
Heeeeeeeeeey everyone! I have been on a hiatus in the past week and haven’t been able to post on the amazing play of the Blueshirts over the last week or so. I’m truly glad I’m not one of the Rangers bloggers who have written off the team for the playoffs because look who’s knocking on the door! With five games left to play (2 of them against Philly who are in the 8th spot) we are two points out and looking to get in.
But let’s talk about the 5 to 0 win last night. The offense is really stepping up and goals are being scored by people not named Marion Gaborik. Marc Staal notched goals in consecutive games. Staal’s defense has been steller all season and he has more confidence in his offensive game and it shows. Brandon Prust got his 2nd goal as a Ranger last night. Prust deserved that goal…good for you buddy! The Rangers have been getting the puck to the net…and what do you know…the pucks went in! Incredible!
The defense was on point as much as it could have been with Wade Redden falling all over the ice when the puck is passed to him…is this guy serious? Anyway…it’s good we got Anders Eriksson at the deadline because he added much needed experience to the defense.
There is one thing the Rangers have added to thier team they didn’t have in the beggining of the season. Toughness. The additions of Olli Jokinen, Brandon Prust, and Jody Shellley have really amped up the toughness of the team and it shows.
Let’s not forget Henrik Lundqvist. 4th shutout of the season. Amazing.
All in all people…I think we’re going to the playoffs. Game tonight against the Panthers…catch ya’ll tomorrow!
Hope they go all the way……………..
