Penned for a Point: Rangers/Penguins Postgame Analysis (VIDEO)

In your face!!!
Hey Everyone…Welcome Back! I know I’m a game behind and my apologies for that. The Sens game on Tuesday was awesome. Callahan had a great game and the Rangers looked like a playoff team. (And do me a favor, take a second out of your day to become a fan of Blueshirt Dirt on Facebook…the link is on your right…thanks everyone!)
But now to last nights game…and I KNOW there are others on the blogosphere that will hammer the Blueshirts for their “lack” of offense last nights. The Penguins put 55 shots on net while the Rangers only had 16 shots. There are two reasons for that difference in numbers…one reason is that the Penguins are a better team…if you deny that then you’re a homer and you should be more realistic. The second reason is that Gaborik is still out. The point is that we shouldn’t dump on the Rangers game play. We played an amazing game against a playoff caliber team and got a point. I’ll take it and so should you.
Henrik Lundqvist. Need I say more? 50 saves. Wow. Another amazing night for the King. Brandon Dubinsky (Video Below) got a powerplay goal and you could tell he really wanted to get that goal. There had been bad blood brewing between Sidney Crosby and Dubinsky and it continued tonight. Brandon Prust and Olli Jokinen have added new life to the team. They have been playing very physical since the trade and are a welcome influence at this point if we wish to make the playoffs.
And how about Max Talbot slapping away Sean Avery’s fists like a little girl during the second! What a wuss! Avery made light of the situation…it was very funny.
Oh…and done think I forgot about the crap penalty Wade Redden got in overtime that lead to our loss. I can’t wait until he gets dumped at he end of the season…god!
Anyway…Gaborik won’t be back until after the weekend and we have to play the Caps on Saturday. Hopefully we can come away with a point. It will make me happy.
