Keep it Rolling: Rangers/Bruins Post Game Analysis
The Rangers won yesterday afternoon 3-1 against the Boston Bruins in Boston. The banged up Bruins looked slow against the smaller faster Blueshirts which continued to build their offensive bravado. There are players which are riding the wave to the top and other players who are sucking plankton off the ocean floor.
Michael Del Zotto led off the game last night with a sick nasty goal. Check out the video above. Jack Edwards of the NESN Network was poking fun at Del Zotto before he put the puck past Tim Thomas in the first. Take that Jack Edwards! Brandon Dubinsky had one goal and two assists on the night, one assist from the Del Zotto goal. Erik Christensen scored a goal last night and is now looking like a great pick up off of wavers. He’s looked great in the first line since Vinny Prospal’s absence. Let’s not forget about Henrik Lundqvist having another gold medal performance with 29 saves and stopping a penalty shot in the first.
Now there is still one straggler on the team and I know most other blogs agree with me on this: Wade Redden. Michal Rozsival would be on the list too if it weren’t for his 13 assists. Wade Redden has only 2 assists in the months of November, December and January. What are we paying this guy for…to fall down when he gets touched? If so…then job well done Wade.
So here we are Rangers fans…45 games in and in 6th place in the Eastern Conference. We’ve beat Boston three times this year and it looks like we’re turning things around. Let’s be positive people…the Blueshirts are more than a “Mediocre” team. It takes time for a team who had gone over a major overhaul during the offseason to show their true stripes and form cohesive chemistry. Watch out everyone…the Rangers are here.
