Holiday Cheer: Rangers/Panthers Postgame Analysis

December 24, 2009

The New York Rangers won 4-1 against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday. Vinny Prospal scored two goals and Chris Drury and Marian Gaborik both had a goal and an assist. Henrik Lundqvist had another excellent night with 34 saves.

The Blueshirts have been playing like they did in the beginning of the season. Chris Drury maybe has found his touch in the last four wins registering three goals and one assist in that time. Brandon Dubinsky has brought a new life to the team since returning from his injury. He’s solidified the first line playing between Prospal and Gaborik.

I don’t feel Wade Redden has been pulling his weight since he’s been back. In the months of November AND December Wade Redden has only ONE ASSIST. I just wanted to make sure you saw that statistic. ONE ASSIST in TWO MONTHS. Not good at all.

But let’s rejoice. There will always be a blemish no matter what happy situation comes along. Let be thankful for the things we’re not…The Carolina Hurricanes (9-22-6).
