Icey when Blues

December 15, 2011

Game time is here again and the Blueshirts go up against the Blues tonight in St. Louis.  The Rangers are coming off a tough loss to the Stars.  I think they’re going to make up for it tonight.  I won’t spout.  Go to my Facebook page and I’ll be blogging live tonight.  I’ll be keeping my eye on other games as well.

What games do you want me to talk about?

I guess….

December 13, 2011

….I should start blogging again. Or maybe not. I’ve been writing Blueshirt Dirt more off than on for a couple years. It seemed that whenever I was writing consistently the Rangers would lose. So I stopped blogging and watching the games. I figure its better that I not watch the games…I felt I was making a sacrifice.

Rewind to December 8th. I’m in a lovely hotel for my girlfriends birthday and I happen to find the Rangers playing the Lightning. It was all over from there. I soon watched the next game and was blown away by how amazing the Blueshirts are this year.

So…I can’t help but to watch the games and see if I can get rid of this complex I have developed.

Rangers against the Stars tonight. Can’t wait to see Richards wipe the ice with his old team…hope Avery is in there too.

What happened while I was writing my last post?

June 29, 2011

Chris Drury was bought out of the final year of his contract by the Rangers. Shocking? Nope. Hello Mr. Richards.

Do we REALLY need Richards?

Do we really need Brad Richards?

Yeah. We do. But we shouldn’t. Or should we? I don’t know.

Yes. We can sign him and he’ll be the center that we need to set Gabroik up and take control of the power play. He would be what the Rangers need. But…

I’d like to mention these two players. Scott Gomez and Chris Drury. The last two big centers we signed did nothing for us. Crapola! If we can buy out Drury’s contract (which is only a matter of time in my head) then we might have the room for Richards. Also the more I write this. The more I lean in the yes direction. I just don’t want to throw tons of money at nothing.

Does anyone else find this ironic?

Montreal Embarrassed!

March 25, 2011

Last night the Boston Bruins decimated the Montreal Canadians 7-0 (Highlights above). In a game where Habs fans we’re hoping for revenge of the hit on Max Pacioretty by Zedno Chara some weeks ago ended up being absolutely dominated. The Habs we’re controlled from the first minute to the last as the Bruins pushed them around and scored shorthanded on them in a 5 on 3 situation. The Bruins we’re able to control the smaller, faster Montreal team. Embarrassing.

With this loss the Canadians aren’t looking so hot which is opening up a chance for the New York Rangers (5-0-1 in their last 6 games) who are two points out to take over the sixth spot in the east.

Can the Habs hold onto the 6th spot? What do you think?

Jim Vandermeer and Cam Janssen drop the gloves!

March 25, 2011

There is nothing better then watching Cam Janssen fight people. You can tell he really gets into his fights. This one was a great one. Jim Vandermeer and Janseen trade blows and it ends up pretty even. Awesome.

Thanks Hockeyfights for the video!

Michael Komisarek blindsides Mark Olver

March 25, 2011

Michael Komisarek of the Toronto Maple Leafs blindsides Mark Olver of the Colorado Avalanche with a high elbow. A fight ensues afterward but Stevens left the game with a concussion. Will there be a suspension for this hit? After the big hammer came down on Matt Cooke I expect a couple games for this one.
